Stone Carving

As I work with small stones, I prefer the ancient methods of using mallets with chisels,
rasps and files. I work slowly. The stones must be soft: soapstone, alabaster, limestone.
I particularly enjoy the translucence of alabaster.

My relief carvings are meant to stand in porch areas or by fireplaces. When carving
into larger free-standing rock, I create pieces with numerous faces, meant to be viewed
from any angle.

I finish stone carvings with waxes.
